Reflections on 2018
So that’s the end of a year that’s seen me get a 10km PB back in January (despite a terrible injury prone months before it), run a marathon in March (Moyleman) which didn’t go at all to plan ending in horrendous muscle pulls on the back of some light training, and then onto the GUCR 145 in May, KACR 145 in July and LLCR in August to complete the Canalslam and then trying to recover well enough to have a fun time on Beachy Head marathon.
I’m proud of what I’ve been able to do this year, even when I’ve faced obstacles, and trained as well as I could inspite of it all. Thanks so much to my wife and friends who have crewed me and supported me and also to my fantastic coach – the marvellous Mimi Anderson. She has really helped me find some better running that I had lurking in me.
Thanks to http://rockstar-sport.com for your continued support with lots of lovely comfortable Tees which never seem to pick up smells!
Plans for 2019
I’m looking forward to 2019 now and getting some of my pace back. My plans are Canterbury 10 mile in January, Lenham Cross Winter Marathon on NDW in February, South Downs 50 mile in April (my first time!) and South Downs Way 100 mile in June (my third time), then the RAT Plague 100k in August and finally Dusk til Dawn 50 miler in the peaks in October. All nice and spread out so I should be able to have enough training and recovery time in between races for once 🙂
Sounds like some good ultras on the list. Love those colorful medals. Happy training!!
