Day 38 – 39: Crossed the border into Belgium from France (293.6 miles)

Hi Everyone. I have crossed into Belgium from France. Only a few miles from Mons – which will be my next stop.

I ran through a small town called Bavay.

There is a lovely column – “The Brunehaut Column”. It’s really interesting – there is an octagonal base and each side has the name of the city where the road leads. How cool is that!

The map below shows the route that I took – and how close I am to Mons.

I ran in my Nike Flex today. They do give a different feel to my More Mile Oslo (which are more cushioned). It’s good to mix up the running shoes.

Mons will be a really interesting city to explore. It is only a few miles away for me now.

I have been exploring the Strava website. I am loving the insights that it gives me – particularly on analysing my pace distribution. You can see an example from my run today.

There is also a more detailed analysis of pace – looks like I was pushing harder towards the end today. I think it shows the slowest mile split (darker blue 2nd mile) and the fastest – towards the end showing also in darker blue.

Whap app do you use for tracking your runs? Have you ever been to Mons, Belgium? What shoes are you running in?
