Ha – chilling out after a couple of runs this weekend. I have had “Let it go” from Frozen whirling around my head during my runs. I can’t get rid of the song…. so I thought I would write some alternative – Ultra running lyrics….
“Let It Go” – Ultra Running version – sing it to the instrumental version here…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UWZxUY0cdg (I can’t sing… AT… ALL – so you’ll have to do it yourselves).
My Headtorch glows light on the hill tonight
no route markers to be seen
A world of isolation
and it looks like I am too clean.
The wind is howling like this rumbling tum inside
Can’t keep it in, I’m gonna have to hide!
I need to poo, don’t let them see
Be the nice chap you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
that you’ve had to go!
One more mile, one more mile
I can’t wait for the checkpoint
One more mile, one more mile
Until I have another gel.
I don’t care
What they’re going to say
Let the checkpoint come,
The cold never bothered me anyway!
It’s funny how stupid distance
Makes everything seem small
And the roadies that once raced me
Can’t get past me at all!
It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me I’m free!
One more mile, one more mile
I can’t wait for the checkpoint
One more mile, one more mile
Until I have another gel.
Here I stand
And here I’ll stay
I can’t go on….!
My arms are flailing through the air I’m on the ground
My head is spinning with dark thoughts I have found
And my pack has given me a nasty rash
I’m never going back,
The past is in the past!
One more mile, one more mile
I can’t wait for the checkpoint
One more mile, one more mile
Until I have another gel.
Here I stand
at the finish line
I need a craft beer now
Recovery shake never bothered me anyway.
