T-6 #runthecoast parkrun with Susie and runthecoast mates
Today was parkrun day. If you haven’t heard of parkrun – it is a free, timed 5k event held all over the country and now around the rest of the world too.
This was Susie’s second parkrun – and she dipped below 30 minutes for the first time doing it in 28:46 and came second ! in her age category. Susie is great. She rocks! I ran with her for the first two miles and the she said that I should run ahead.
It was great to catch up with Keith, Paul and Karen. We also had a chat with some friends – Russell, Sheila and their baby Caitlan (she came first because she was in the buggy!)
We retired to Dotty’s tea rooms for Bacon rolls and a cuppa all round and some chat about the 200 mile coastal run in less than a week.
#runthecoast news – Talk turned to what to take for the first day – which we are running without a support vehicle (or Carry McCarface?)
Backpack: Hydration tablets, mobile phone, phone GPS tracker, phone charging leads, portable battery USB charger, Fenix 3, Fenix 3 charger, Rocktape, paracetomol, ibuprofen, caramel chew (mars bars), headtorch (just in case), etrex 20 handheld GPS with route loaded, more mile soft-flasks, running belt.
