Day two: Epona 100 count up

This is day two of my final journey as I prepare for a 100-mile race in Wales at the end of June. The Epona 100!

Training Recap:

I did a 3.5 mile run with some folk at work. Nice jog round Battersea park.

Reflections:

Running with others definitely makes the time fly.

Fitness Progress:

Hill score 51

Four week elevation 7,491ft

Hill endurance: 45

Hill strength: 14

VO2 max: 47

Nutrition and Hydration:

Bagel, soup, chilli and rice, couple of coffees and whatever I have for tea!

Mental Preparation:

All I have to do is put one foot in front of the other on the race. Keep moving forward.

Gear Check:

I have a number of compression shorts. Some of them seem to ride up more than others. Even the same brand/type. I need to test and keep the good ones to one side.

Tips and Tricks:

Remember to apply anti-chafe to anything that might rub. Including back! On the morning of the race.

What tips do you have for races where you aren’t able to recce the route?
